What essential skills you need to be a journalist?
To be a journalist you obviously have to interested in researching stuff and getting to know new things. Videos, Audios, Social Media Engagement are also the stuff that you'll have to be around all the time. The passion for journalism is the most important thing because why would you want to work in an industry that you don't like?
In the actual work you'd obviously need some skills, like your University or College diplomas.
Your GSCE are important as I've said it would be good to have Uni or at least college. Your experience is also so important especially in that job as it's media lecturer one. You'd need some experience as a teacher of media or some kind of journalism.
